Screw utilizing static air pressure
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the area to which the pressure of supplied air is acted and to simplify the sealing structure of the titled screw, by employing such an arrangement that the interspace formed between an outer sleeve fitted around a nut and a helical groove formed in the outer surface of the nut is utilized as a compressed-air feeding passage. CONSTITUTION:A V-shaped helical groove 11 is formed in the outer surface of a nut 7 at the same pitch as that of a female screw of the nut 7, and a plurality of straight through-holes 14, 18 are formed to extend from the helical groove 11 to the flank surfaces 13, 17 of the female screw of the nut 7. Here, since machining of the through-holes is rendered extremely simple and they can be formed to extend substantially perpendicularly to the flank surfaces 13, 17, the function of the titled screw is improved. Further, since arrangement is such that the interspace between an outer sleeve fitted in an airtight manner around the nut 7 and the helical groove 11 is utilized as a compressed-air supply passage P, it is enabled to reduce the area where the pressure of supplied air is acted, to simplify the sealing structure and to reduce leakage of air.
