Cleaning tape for magnetic head

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of cleaning and to prevent the damage on a surface of magnetic head by providing numerous small holes in the thickness direction of a film substrate to form a cleaning tape for magnetic heads. CONSTITUTION:Numerous small holes 2 are formed in the thickness direftion of a polyester film 1, which is a substrate of a cleaning tape 4, by electric discharge machining, laser spot machining or the like. The tape 4 picks up the magnetic particles, binders, dust, etc. stuck on the magnetic head with the edges of the holes 2, and cleans the head by incorporating these materials into the hollow parts of said holes; therefore, said tape does not damage the magnetic head. The effect of cleaning is much improved if a cleaning soln. such as alcohol or carbon tetrachloride is incorported in the hollow parts of small holes.
