Series regulator

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To generate the stable output voltage, by generating the reference voltage with the output voltage obtained by amplifying the changing input voltage and then controlling an amplifying element with a signal obtained by giving the operational amplification to both output voltage and reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:The input voltage supplied from input terminals 1 and 1' is applied to the emitter of a transistor TR3 and a trigger circuit 11. The voltage amplified by the TR3 is applied to a plus terminal of an operational amplifier 5 as well as to a reference voltage generator 4. The reference voltage obtained by a Zener diode 9 and a resistance 4 is supplied to a plus terminal of an operational amplifier 10, and the output of the amplifier 10 is applied to a minus terminal of the amplifier 5. The output of the amplifier 10 is equal to the reference voltage. The amplifier 5 compares the reference voltage with the output voltage and controls the base voltage of the TR3. The circuit 11 applies a certain degree of voltage to output terminals 2 and 2' when a power supply is applied. As a result, the stable voltage is generated at the terminals 2 and 2'.
