Differential gear apparatus

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To protect the inner surface of a differential case against wear, by providing washers for supporting the rear surfaces of pinion mate gears and side gears in the manner that slippage of the washers relative to the differential case is prevented. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear apparatus is constituted by disposing a plurality of pinion mate gears 3 and a plurality of side gears 4 in a differential case 12 in the manner that they are held in mesh with each other. Further, washers 17, 18 are interposed respectively between the pinion mate gears 3 and the differential case 12 and between the side gears 4 and the differential case 12. Here, slippage of the washers 17, 18 relative to the differential case 12 is prevented by pawls 17b, 18b of the washers 17, 18 and mating slits formed in the differential case 12.
