Fine particle silica dispersed polyol and preparation of polyurethane using it
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled low-viscosity transparent polyol, by removing a dispersing medium of silica sol from a mixture of a high-molecular weight polyol and the silica sol, and to obtain a polyurethane having improved mechanical strength and surface performance, by using the prepared polyol. CONSTITUTION:(A) A high-molecular weight polyol (preferably a polyether polyol having a molecular weight of 800-6,000) is mixed with (B) preferably <=30wt% based on the component A of silica sol (preferably particle diameters of 1-100mum), and the mixture is dehydrated under reduced pressure at preferably <=80 deg.C so that a dispersing medium (e.g., water, alcohol, etc.) is removed, to give the desired polyol. The polyol is reacted with a polyisocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate, etc.) in the presence of a blowing agent or a chain extender, to give the desired polyurethane. USE:Suitable as safety glass (bilayer glass) for cars.
