Preparation of synthetic resin dispersion
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel dispersion having improved binder functions, by copolymerizing a vinyl chloride and a vinyl acetate monomers with a specific monomer and an alkali metal salt of (meth)allylsulfonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of monomers of (A) 30-70wt% vinyl chloride monomer, (B) 29.8-69.8wt% vinyl acetate monomer, (C) 0.1-5wt% monomer (e.g., t-butyl peroxy allylcarbonate, etc.) shown by the formula (R and R' are H or 1-5C alkyl; n is 1 or 2), and (D) 0.1-5wt% alkali metal salt of (meth)allylsulfonic acid is copolymerized in an aqueous medium, to give the desired dispersion. When a binder obtained by adding a plasticizer, heat stabilizer, etc. to the dispersion is used as a binder, it shows improved heat sealing strength during heating.
