Fuel cell device incorporating fuel reformer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To maintain constant operating temperature continuously by mixing air with fuel then performing the oxidation on an oxidation catalyst to rise the temperature quickly at the starting while responding quickly to the temperature variation due to the load variation. CONSTITUTION:Fuel + air is fed through a fuel supply port 10 to enter into a fuel manifold 11 where it is oxidized on an oxidation catalyst 12. This reaction is great exothermic reaction. The oxygen in the air is consumed through said full amount oxidation at the fuel manifold. The fuel heated in such a manner is fed to a reforming flow path 7a to produce the reforming reaction thus to produce the reformed gas of H2 and CO2 which is fed to an anode 2 of a fuel cell to produce a cell reaction. Consequently the insufficient heat under low load is filled by the heat produced through the oxidation thereby the temperature can be maintained constant even when the load has varied while said heat will also function effectively on the temperature rise at the starting.
