Heat exchanger made of brazed aluminum
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a heat exchanger made of brazed Al having high corrosion resistance by using an Al alloy having low sensitivity to intergranular corrosion, superior corrosion resistance and nobler potential in pitting corrosion for the principal constituent members and an Al alloy having baser potential in pitting corrosion than said Al alloy for the secondary constituent members. CONSTITUTION:The principal constituent members of a heat exchanger such as the tubes which cause fatal damage to the exchanger when corroded are made of an alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.2-2.0% Cu and the balance Al with inevitable impurities or further contg. one or more among 0.01-0.5% Zr, 0.05- 0.5% Mn and 0.05-0.5% Cr. The secondary constituent members of the exchanger such as the fins which does not exert direct unfavorable influence on the life of the exchanger even when corroded are made of an alloy consisting of Cu restricted to <=0.2%, one or more among 0.1-1.5% Zn, 0.01-0.1% Sn and 0.01-0.1% In, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities.
