Magnetic recorder and reproducer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain special reproduction from video information of a dynamic picture, and still picture and slow motion, by performing accurate tracking control of a main head through the use of auxiliary heads and reproducing the recording in a speed different from recording speed. CONSTITUTION:In reproducing a magnetic tape of azimuth recording in the same running speed as the recording, outputs from main head Ha, Hb are applied to reproducing processing circuits 17, 18 via switches 5, 7 and 6 to obtain reproduced video signals. Outputs from auxiliary heads h1, h2 are conducted to amplitude detection circuits 9, 8, applied to a comparator 12 via low pass filters 11, 10. The comparison output represents the shift of track of the main head Ha and the main head Ha is controlled with this output so that the head Ha can be tracked on the track accurately. In case of the still reproduction, the auxiliary head h1 is used for the reproduction of picture and the auxiliary head h1 and the main head Hb reproduce one frame.
