Terminal recognition device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To recognize easily and surely types of terminal machines connected to a central processing device, by recognizing them on a program. CONSTITUTION:When a status read command is issued from the central processing device to each terminal machine at the system power-on time or the system reset time, a data discriminating circuit 2 provided in each terminal machine discriminates the status read command; and if it is discriminated that this command is destined for the terminal machine itself, a signal (a) is given to a data processing circuit 3. By this signal (a), the data processing circuit 3 reads status information indicating the type of its own terminal machine from a status information circuit 6 and returns this status information together with address information to the central processing device. The central processing device recognizes the type of the connected terminal machine on a basis of returned status information.
