Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the jamming of a conveyed cargo in chutes, reduce idle time and economize consumed electric power, by starting a conveyor when the front end of the conveyed cargo has reached a prescribed position near the downstream end of another upper conveyor. CONSTITUTION:When a starting instruction is applied, a control circuit 11 first starts a hopper feeder 2 in accordance with a prescribed program to deliver a material out of a hopper. A belt conveyor 4 is revolved in response to a delivery detection signal 2b to convey the delivered material to the right-hand end of the conveyor. When a conveyed cargo detector 4c has confirmed the presence of the material at the downstream end of the conveyor 4 throughout a prescribed time, a signal is entered into the control circuit 11 to start another conveyor 5. After the lapse of a prescribed time T5, still another conveyor 6 is started. After the lapse of another prescribed time T6, still another conveyor 7 is started. The hopper 2 and the conveyors are sequentially stopped from the most upstream stage to the most downstream stage. The times T5, T6 are determined in terms of the speed and length of the conveyors. According to this method, jamming in chutes is prevented and idle time is diminished.
