Automobile filler lid structure

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce a fitting space in a structure of a filler lid which opens or closes an opening of a filler box when a fuel is supplied by shifting the filler lid toward its pivot when the lid is closed. CONSTITUTION: A filler lid 6 which is fit in such a manner that it can open or close a circular opening 9 of a filler box 8 wherein a fuel supply pipe 7 is disposed is held by a holder 11 by the medium of a connection member 10 which is fit to one end of the back face of the filler lid. The holder 11 is U-shaped elastic metal, whose fixed end is secured to a vehicle body panel 8a with a bolt 12. The filler lid 6 is locked or unlocked by fastening or unfastening a latch 13a to a retaining member 14 under the control of a key cylinder 13 which is fit to the opposed free end. A guide member 15 is fixed to the vehicle body panel 18a together with the retaining member 14. An inclined guide face 15a is formed on this guide member 15, used for shifting the filler lid 6 oppositely in the direction A shown in the drawing when it is closed and interacting with a pad member 18.
