Emergency shut-off valve for fuel gas

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To stop the flow of fuel gas instantaneously by actuating the recoiling force of a spring through the disengagement of a preset recoil stopper mechanism when the valve is subjected to abnormal vibration such as an earthquake and the like. CONSTITUTION: When a valve is subjected to abnormal vibration such as an earthquake and the like an oscillating weight 11 supported by a spherical seat 10 oscillates to move vertically a disc which is an integral part of the spherical seat 10 thereby giving an oscillating movement to a disc plate 9 attached to an oscillating arm 8 which in turn oscillates to disengage a roller 7 attached thereto from a groove of a set arm 6 recoiling a spring 4 which has been lifted by a valve rod 3 and set in the compressed position and pressing down the valve rod 3 thereby pressing the valve 2 to a valve seat to shut off the flow of the fuel gas.
