Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To reinforce the fixation of a pad on the tip of the valve rocker arm an engine, by providing a protrusion on the back of the pad and casting the rocker arm body around the protrusion to secure it to the rocker arm body. CONSTITUTION: A shaft support hole 2 is provided in the center of a rocker arm body 1 made of light alloy. The tip of the rocker arm body 1 is used as a contact part 3 for an intake/exhaust valve. A pad 4 made of hard metal is fixed on the end face of the contact part 3 by casting. A protrusion 7 is integrally provided on the back 6 of the pad 4 so that the protrusion is shrinkage-fitted by casting the light alloy around the protrusion. Therefore, the pad 4 is firmly fixed on the rocker arm body 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
