Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To readily obtain lowered and raised output voltages with respect to an input voltage by inserting another capacitor from an output capacitor in series with an input power source and an output and superposing the voltage of the capacitor with the input voltage to raise the output voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a switch SW is closed, energies are stored in the first and the second choke coils L4 and L5. When the switch SW is then opened, a diode D4 is conducted, the energy of the first coil L4 is charged in the first capacitor C4, and the energy of the second coil L5 is supplied to an output. When the switch SW is further closed, the energy of the capacitor C4 is supplied to the output. Since the voltage is superposed with the input voltage by inserting the capacitor C4 in series with the input power source and the output to raise the output voltage, lowered and raised output voltages can be readily obtained, while the ripple current flowing through an output capacitor C5 can be reduced, and the ripple voltage of the output can be decreased.
