Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To save energy while the room of a vehicle is air-conditioned, by providing an operation unit selectively engaging with either one of the air-cooling mechanism or the air-heating mechanism, and by intermittently operating a compressor by controlling ON/OFF cycle time of the air-cooling mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A rack gear 12 for a heater is solidly provided in the middle position and a rack gear 13 for a cooler in the rear end of an operation handle 11, and a rotary shaft 14 for the operation handle 11 is provided between both gears 12 and 13. The air-heating mechanism 9 is consisted of a pinion 17 engaging with the rack 12 when the operation handle 11 is moved to the right side, an operating arm 18 and a rod 19, and opens and closes an air-mixed door 4. An air-cooling mechanism 10 is consisted of an pinion 21 engaging with the rack 13 when the operation handle 11 is moved to the left side, an air-conditioning switch 22, and ON/OFF cycle switch 25, which is operated through an operating arm 23 and a rod 24, and operates a compressor intermittently.
