Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To enable to perform a treatment of a continuous form medium, a front-feed type manual feeding of a sheet form medium and an automatic treatment by a method wherein a feed roller consisting of a pair of rollers, a friction roller 29 and passages for the medium are provided at particular positions close to a platen. CONSTITUTION: The feed roller 29 consisting of a pair of rollers 28a, 28b is provided at a position which is directly above a printing position 4 (between a printing head 10 and the platen 1) and is close to the platen 1, while the friction roller 29 is provided below the printing position 4. Further, an insert passage (a) for the sheet form medium automatically fed from a hopper stand 25 and an insert passage (b) for a manually fed sheet form medium are formed by medium guides 20, 21, 22. A passage from the feed roller 28 to the printing position 4 is formed by a guide 23, and a medium passage (d) is formed between a medium guide 17 and the platen 1.
