Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obviate failure of ink discharge that cannot be eliminated by the operation for solving the undischarge of ink at a nozzle tip, by performing cooperatively the solving of a failure of discharge of ink and the detection of the remaining amount of ink. CONSTITUTION:Ink is sucked from an orifice NO by pressing down a pressing- down lever PB. at the same time, by the pressing-down of the RB, pressing plate PP is pressed, so that contacts S1-S4 positioned on the four corners of said PP through springs approach S1'-S4' and the remaining amount of ink is detected by the contact or uncontact of said contacts. In other words, in case the cause of the failure of discharge is due to the receding of the meniscus in a nozzle N, the failure of the discharge is solved, and in case it is due to the exhaustion of the remaining amount of ink, the S1-S4 and the S1'-S4' are connected to urge the operator through a buzzer or the like to supply ink.
