Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: An inexpensive small-sized device equipped with a semiconductor emission element for lightening a cell container, its driving circuit, a light detector for receiving an amount of transmission light, its sample holding circuit, a treating circuit for measuring cell propagation, a calculating circuit, etc. CONSTITUTION: First, a cell container, etc. as a standard is placed on the lightening device 22, its light is measured, the output power of the amplifier 35 at that time is sampled and its average value is obtained by the smaple holding circuit 36, it is converted into a digital value by the converter 38 and memorized as a standard value in the memory circuit 39. Second, a container for a cell to be measured, having a cultivated cell, is placed on the lightening device 2, its light is meassured, the output powder of the light detector 34 is treated and a measured value is obtained from the sample holding circuit 36. This measured value is divided by the standard value memorized by the memory circuit 39 by the circulating circuit 40, to give a relative value. This relative value is shown by the indicator 41, and printed out by the printer 42. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
