Weight control method for molded article in powder compression molding machine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent hunting phenomena of a weight controlling operation and enhance the accuracy of weight control by a method wheein the inputting of a weight correction signal into a weight control mechanism is interrupted during the period from the time of outputting the correction signal for the control mechanism to the time of compression molding a weight-controlled powder. CONSTITUTION: At the time of compression molding, changes of the load exerted on a lower pestle 5 are converted into electrical quantities by a load-electric converter 9, and the electrical quantities are fed into a weight discriminator 10. Then, it is discriminated whether or not the electrical quantities passed through an amplifier 10a and an intergrator 10b are within the range between upper and lower weight limits preset on a setter 10c. When the electricalquantities have a tendency to deviate from the preset range, the weight correction signal A and a starting signal B are outputted from the setter 10c. The correction signal A functions to operate the weight control mechanism 11 to control the amount of the powder charged into each of mortars 2. On the other hand, the starting signal B functions to operate a gate controller 13 to close a gate 12 over the period from the time of outputting the correction signal A to the time of conducting the compression molding at the mortar 2 which is charged with the weight-controlled powder, whereby interrupting the inputting of the correction signal into the control mechanism 11 during said period.
