Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To surely couple a copying machine with a sorter by turning on and off an indicating lamp upon the detection of imperfect connection between the copying machine and the sorter, and by warning with a buzzer. CONSTITUTION: A sorter 40 is coupled to a copying machine through a rotary shaft 50 and turns on a microswitch 20 through a cam 70. In this state, when a sorter selecting switch 19 is depressed, a lamp 26 is illuminated. Therefore, a group of trays ascend until a position sensor 16 detects the tray 4-1 ascending. When the trays are stopped, copying operation is initiated. If the connection between the copying machine and the sorter is abnormal, the switch 20 is opened and a high level signal H is fed to an AND gate 22 and an NOR gate 23 so that the output of the NOR gate is changed into the low level state, resulting in the lamp 26 being extinguished. Further, the AND gate 22 produces the same signal as the output of an oscillator 21, thereby the lamp 26 is turned on and off and an electronic buzzer is actuated to warn.
