Plunger driving circuit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attract a plunger relatively slowly and securely by a method wherein successive pulses are applied to a plunger solenoid as driving voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 16 is on, transistors 13, 15 becomes on state and at the same time a transistor 12 repeats chopper operation synchronizing oscillation output of a multivibrator 19, so that pulses of voltage V1 are successively applied to both ends of a plunger solenoid 14. A current of the solenoid 14 is gradually increased by the pulse voltage and the plunger is slowly attracted. after a certain period has passed a transistor 20 is off and the transistor 13 becomes off state, so that only an output voltage V2 of a DC source 11 is applied to the solenoid 14. Thus the current of the solenoid 14 is kept so low as just about enough to keep the planger attracted.
