Developing device for electrophotography
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To perform stable development by installing a supply roller having surface recesses in a developing vessel packed with a magnetic toner in a rotatable state and a permanent magnet in a developing sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A toner on a supply roller 4 approaching a developing roller 8 is transferred onto a developing sleeve 8a by the attraction of a permanent magnet 8b. The transferred toner is heaped on the sleeve 8a at the transfer position as shown by a symbol 2a. As the magnet 8b is rotated, the toner on the sleeve 8a is moved in the opposite direction (counterclockwise direction) and uniformly dispersed as shown by a symbol 2b. At this time, the toner rolls on the sleeve surface in uniform several layers, and uniform triboelectric charging can be attained. The uniformly charged toner reaches the developing zone, where it contacts with a photoreceptor 9 to make an electrostatic latent image supported on the receptor 9 visible. During the development, a bias voltate is applied between the sleeve 8a and the receptor 9 from a power source 10.
