Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To perform light rotation of a web drying guide roll and improve cooling quality of its bearings, by such constitution that cooling air is blown through a hollow shaft into a tubular roller secured with impellers to its both ends and the impellers are rotated by said cooling air. CONSTITUTION: Cooling air is pressure fed from a blower 4 to a supporting shaft 1. This cooling air flows into a roll main unit 7 from an air flowout port 3 to pass through impellers 8 from the roll main unit 7 and is released to the atmospheric air. At this time, the impellers 8 are rotated by cooling air to both lightly rotate the roll 7 and cool bearings 9. In this way, light rotation of the roll can be performed to cool the bearngs further setting of torque can be easily performed by adjustment of blown air. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
