Structure of heat exchanger unit using metal hydride
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a reaction heat production in a reaction tank applied as a heat accumulation body etc. by a method wherein metal is filled between a filter cylinder and an annular cylinder, and hydrogen gas is passed through the filter ot cause it to be uniformly immersed in the metal. CONSTITUTION: Four circular pipings 6 are arranged in the vertical outer cylinder 5, the circular pipings 6 are passed through baffle plates 7 regularly spaced aprt, and through lid 10 having heat insulation material 11 filled therein and projected thereabove, and further hydrogen gas pipe 12 is arranged at the top ends of the pipings. In the circular pipings 6 are coaxially arranged stainless net filter cylinders 13, their top ends are opened to be faced aginst the hydrogen gas pipe 12. Metal hydride 15 is filled in a space between the inner surface of the circular piping 6 and the outer surface of the filter cylinder 13. On the other hand, one end of the baffle plate 7 is formed with a recess 7a, and an adjoining recess in the baffle plate 7 is arranged to form a symmetrical pattern with the former recess, the heat exchanging fluid is ascended up in the fluid inlet pipe 8 along the baffle plate in a zig-zag form and then flowed out of the outlet pipe 9.
