Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make the current density in a heating resistor uniform so as to improve the printed quality and the longer reliability of the heating resistor, by providing a part having lower resistance into a heating resistor pattern of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The heating resistor 4 is divided by the low resistance members 5 into several sections forming resistors in series, and connected to leading electrodes 6, so that they form one dot. Thus, the ununiformity of the current density in the heting part would be avoided, and further with respect to the low resistance members 5, heat is transferred to the members from the opposite sides, so that a printing dot that has been colored precisely in all directions can be obtained. By providing the low resistance parts forming one dot to the heating part of which the heating resistor is divided into several or has notches, a highly stable thermal head that consumes less electric power can be obtained.
