Novel 5-fluorouracil derivative

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:The 5-fluorouracil derivative of formulaI(R is H or group of formula II; R 1 is 1W5C alkylene; R 2 is 1W5C alkyl; R 3 is OH or 1W6C alkoxy; n is 1, 2 or 3; m is 0 or 1), and its pharmacologically permissible salt. EXAMPLE: 1-(4-Ethoxycarbonylheptyl)-5-fluorouracil. USE: A low-toxic carcinostatic agent exhibiting remarkable carcinostatic effect without reducing the immunity of the patient. PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting 5-fluorouracil of formula III or 2,4-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-5-fluoropyrimidine of formula IV with a compound of formula V (X is acid residue) in an inert solvent in the presence of a base or a silver salt, and if necessary, hydrolyzing the product.
