Biochemical treatment of organic waste water
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To perform treatment efficiently and inexpensively by subjecting org. waste liquid to biological nitrifying and denitrifying treatment, and adding flocculants of iron type, aluminum type, etc. to the mixed slurries of the effluent thereof and excess sludge. CONSTITUTION: Skimmed crude night soil 31 is flowed into a biological nitrifying and denitrifying process 32, and the BOD components in the night soil 31 are treated as org. carbon sources for the purpose of denitrifying bacteria, whereby the BOD components and nitrogen components are removed. Part of the outflow slurry 39 from the 2nd denitrifying tank 35 is flowed into a sludge concentrator 40 where concd. separating water 42 is mixed with the remaining part of the slurry 39 and is flowed as mixed slurries 43 into an agitating tank 44. After flocculants 45 are added to the slurries in the tank 44, they are separated to supernatant 47 and concd. sludge 48 with a thickener 46. The concd. sludge is separated to dehydration separating water 50 and dehydrated cake 51 with a filter press 49. The supernatant 47 is discharged as mixed water 52 with the separating water 50 to the outside of the system. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
