Adiabatic structure
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable ceramic and metal to be joined stably in low and high temperatures by joining a hollow ceramic body to a base metal with elastic force of a metal wire complex having thermal resistance. CONSTITUTION:When a hollow ceramic body is joined to a base metal, the former is constituted to be joined to the latter with elastic force of stockinitte metal complex. For examples, a structure provided on the outer periphery of a cylinder 1 formed of silicon nitride with a complex 2 of stockinitte stainless steel wire is fitted on an outer cylinder 3 formed of stainless steel. Such structure is further attached to a cylinder block 4. When a cylinder head 6 is attached to the upper portion of the structure through a gasket 5, preservation of the cylinder 1 can be satisfactorily maintained even if temperature is raised up to about 500 deg.C or more. Also, the ceramic cylinder 1 may be joined diretly to the cylinder block 4 through the complex 2.
