Structure for releasing stay of automotive inside mirror

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To ensure that the stay is released when an impulsive force of not less than a preset load is exerted, by a method wherein the sliding surfces of a stay base part and a fixing base are respectively provided with engaging parts and parts to be engaged which are oppositely located and enable the two members to be separated from each other by rotating. CONSTITUTION: The fixing base 3 is provided with the engaging parts 8, 8a, while the stay base part 2 is provided with the parts 8, 7a and 9, 9a to be engaged with the engaging parts 8, 8a, in such a manner that the engaging parts 8, 8a can be clamped between the parts 7, 7a to be engaged and the parts 9, 9a to be engaged. The fixing base 3 is pivotably fitted to the stay base part 2 by a screw 4 through a spring washer 6. When an impulsive force tending to rotare the stay 1 in the direction of arrow f 1 with the screw 4 as a center is exerted on the stay 1, the parts 7, 9a to be engaged are raised along the engaging parts 8, 9a respectively, and the screw 4 slips off from the washer 6 so that the stay base part 2 is released from the fixing base 3 assuredly. The same result is obtained also in the case of an impulsive force which rotate the stay 1 in the direction opposite to the direction of the arrow f 1 . COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
