Lens body
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To manufacture an arrayed lens easily by forming a small-sized, refractivity distribution type lens having short focal length, by forming three-dimensional distribution of refractive index in a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:On a transparent substrate 11 made of synthetic resin, glass, etc., a mask 12 having a circular hole 12a is formed. When sulfate is used as a diffused material, the mask uses titanium or titanium oxide. The mask is formed by sputtering or vapordepositing TiO2, which is etched lithographically to form the hole 12a. The hole may be in any shape except a circle. Then, the diffusion migration of a monomer copolymerizing with the substrate through the hole and the ion exhcnage diffusion of glass modifying oxide increasing refractive index in the glass substrate are performed. According to the refractive distribution of thus obtained lens, the refractive index decreases from the substrate surface in the Z-axis direction and also varies nearly by the square law in the plane perpendicular to the Z-axis in the radius direction.
