Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure the quick conversion of the forwarding driver toward the radius of a disk, by securing normal forwarding of a supporting substrate with the 1st forwarding driver and high-speed forwarding with the 2nd forwarding driver, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A retrieved address A is preset by the use of a preset address circuit 48 and then compared with the present address B. If ¦A-B¦ is larger than a prescribed value, a time setting circuit 50 calculates the fast forwarding time duration in accordance with the value of ¦A-B¦. During this time duration, a motor controlling circuit 42 and a motor 27 are actuated to give fast forwarding to a supporting substrate 32 and a reader 5 toward the radius of a disk 1. When ¦A-B¦is smaller than the prescribed value, a motor controlling circuit 38 and a motor 25 are actuated to give normal forwarding to the substrate 32 and the reader 5 toward the radius. In such way, a quick and accurate retrieval is automatically possible.
