Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To keep constant a printing gap between a head and a blank and to obtain a lighter carrier by a method wherein a guide body supporting a carrier on which a printer head is mounted and a pinch roller are supported by a common movable supporter. CONSTITUTION: One 21 of two guide bodies 20, 21 guiding a carrier 19 on which a printer head 7 is mounted is fixed to movable supporters 24, 25 which are installed rotatively in a body case through a supporting shaft 26 and a pinch roller 28 also is installed rotatively in the movable supporters 24, 26. In a printing motion the pinch roller 28 is brought into contact with the circumference of a paper feed roller 29 and, therefore, a gap G between a platen 8 and the head 7 is kept constant. When printing is not in motion, a plunger 41 is driven, the movable supporters 24, 25 are revolved, the head 7 is separated from the platen 8 and the pinch roller 28 from the paper feed roller 29.
