Printing method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To greatly cut down on necessary memory information in a 7X(5 out of 9) printing method by using a system in which normal 7X5 dot patterns are stored and information bit for the presence of false dots are arranged on each line and each row. CONSTITUTION:Dot patterns for one letter, having normal matrix arrangement (7 in length X5 in width), is stored in ROM. When reading out the dot patterns, while making reference to information bit for the presence of false dots for every row and also to one word in which information bit for the presence of false dots for every row is arranged vertically, the printing of each dot is made while judging whether or not dot represented by each bit should be printed at normal arranging point or at central arranging point after shifting it by 1/2 the interval. Also, even when difficult letter for the printing method under this invention is printed by the conventional method, storing capacity required for generation of letter patterns can be greatly reduced on a whole.
