Measuring apparatus of optical density

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a measuring apparatus having excellent durability such as heat- resistance, moisture-resistance and mechanical strength, by using a ceramic board as a standard reflection board. CONSTITUTION:A density measuring unit 29 is arranged on an optional passage of a transfer paper of an electrophotographic apparatus and a standard reflection board 19 formed in a laminar shape by adding a pigment to finely powdered ceramic material and baked it, is arranged on its lower part. While the transfer paper is not passed on the board 19, light from a light source 31 is reflected by the board 19 and is received by a photodetector 32 and then reflected density of the board 19 is measured. Further, when the transfer paper is passed on the board 19, the reflected density of the transfer paper is measured and existence of the transfer paper is detected by the difference of the reflected density. Hereby, even when the transfer paper is passed while rubbing the board 19, a sufficient mechanical strength can be obtained because of the standard board made of a ceramic material.
