Manufacture of hollow container excellent in dimensional stability of mouth

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To produce a hollow container excellent in the dimensional stability of the mouth, by heat treating the mouth under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:In the case for producing a hollow container by biaxial stretching blow molding of a polyethylene terephthalate, the conditions expressed by the formulas Tg-30<=T<Tg (wherein T represents a heat treatment temperature, Tg represents the second-order transition point of the polyethylene terephthalate) and t>=(50/T)<0.8> (wherein t represents a heat treatment period in hour, and T represents the same as indicated above) should be satisfied simultaneously. Here, Tg is a value obtained by a differential scanning calorimeter (made by Parkin Ermer Co., DSC1 type) when it is heated from room temperature at 16 deg.C/min.
