Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head having a simplified circuit constitution and capable of performing high-speed recording by connecting a heating resistor provided in series to the first base plate to a driving means provided to the second base plate by a conductor. CONSTITUTION:A latch circuit 6 sends forth a latched content only for a period when disable signal is put in a terminal 10. When picture signal sent out of the latch circuit 6 is supplied to the driving circuit, the driving circuit 2 operates selectively according to the picture, and a heating resistor 1 is selectively energized electrically according to the picture signal. The resistor 1 is energized only for a period of time which is determined by disable signal until a heat-sensitive paper relatively moving in contact with the thermal head is blackened to a given concentration in its portion facing the heated resistor. In this way, recording of one line is completed and the next one line is ready for recording preparation. Each time picture signal of one line is put in the terminal 7, the same operations are made for performing the recording of secondary pictures.
