Paper feeder

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To surely separate sheets of paper one by one and supply it through a paper feeder in which the paper is supplied by the frictional rotation of a main roller and belts wound around a rotary shaft provided along the main roller, by providing the rotary shaft with a slip clutch which slips when load is not lower than a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION: When one sheet A is pinched between a main roller 12 and timing belts 26, high load acts on a slip clutch 19 so that the clutch slips and the timing belts 26 follow the main roller 12 to deliver out the sheet A. When two or more sheets are supplied, the frictional force between the sheets A is much lower than that between the main roller 12 or the timing belts 26 and the sheets A so that the second and the succeeding sheets A are returned to a paper rest 11 and only the lowest sheet A is delivered out.
