Controller of dot printer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To realize a compact and lightweight structure with a low cost for a controller of a dot printer, by printing a 1-dot print row in the course of the reciprocating motion of the print hammer group in case the number of dots to be printed in a 1-dot print row is larger than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A print data (a) is written in a print data buffer PLB2 from an upper device 1. Then a PLB data (d) is supplied to a character generator CG17 by an address (c) given from a PLB address counter 5, and thus the block storing a dot pattern is designated. Then a horizontal dot pattern (n) is supplied to a data selector 18 by the horizontal position information (e) given from a horizontal position control circuit 7, and the vertical position information (o) is delivered by the vertical position information (r) given from a vertical position control circuit 19. When the print hammer completes the printing of the horizontal dot row with a hammer drive signal (q), the print paper is advanced up to the horizontal doe row at the next vertical position to be printed on one and coming-back way of the reciprocating motion of the print hammer group.
