Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To decrease the thickness of plate of door inner panels and reinforcements by a method wherein guard bars are jointed to the reinforcements, which are formed box sections together with the door inner panels, in order to reduce the load given to the inner panels at side collision. CONSTITUTION: The reinforcement 5 and 6 are formed box horizontal sections together with the door inner panels 3 and 4. Horizontally extending guard bars 7 and 8 are jointed to the reinforcements 5 and 6 respectively. Because the load at side collision is given to the guard bars and the reinforcements, the thickness of plate of the inner panels can be decreased and, because the box sections are formed with the panels and the reinforcements, the thickness of plate of the reinforcements can also be decreased.
