Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make an optical system common, miniaturize a titled device and commonly provide the functions of a copying machine and a printer by using an LED linear light source. CONSTITUTION:A light source 14 is arranged one-dimensionally with a large number of LED13 and the respective light emitting parts are so constituted as to emit light independently according to input signals. The light source 14 is disposed in a manner that its focus position is the same as an original plane 4. An intrinsic lamp light source 3 irradiates the original plane 4. The light of the light source 3 reflected from the original face 4 at the copying function and the light from the light source 14 at the printer function are both passed through a lens 5 via a half mirror 15 and a mirror 16 and are imaged on a photosensitive drum 1. Part of the charge on the drum 1 charged by a charger 2 is removed by the reflected light from the original plane 4 or the light from the light source 14, and recording is carried out on recording paper 9 by way of a developing device 6, a transfer charger 7 and a fixing device 8.
