Plated steel plate of superior weldability
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To permit easy execution of joining as a can body through welding by successively laminating a tin plating layer, a chrome plating layer, and a film consistion essentially of hydrated chromium hydroxide on both surfaces of a steel plate, and defferentiating only the thicknesses of the tin plating layers on both surfaces. CONSTITUTION: In the production of vessels such as food cans and miscellaneous cans, a tin plating layer is formed to 0.1W5.6g/m 2 expressed in terms of weight on one surface of a steel plate, and a chrome plating layer is formed to 5W150mg/ m 2 expressed in terms of weight on the top layer thereof. Further, a film consisting essentially of chromium hydrate is formed on the top layer thereof so as to have 3W30mg/m 2 chromium weights. On the other hand, a tin plating layer is formed to 0W2.8g/m 2 expressed in terms of weight on the other surface of the steel plate, and the chrome plating layer thereon and the film consisting essentially of hydrated- oxide are formed to the thicknesses similar to those mentioned above. In this way, the tin plating thickness on one side is made larger that the tin plating thickness on the other surface to differentiate the thicknesses of the tin plating layers. Thereby, welding is accomplished easily without making any pretreatment for welding at all. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
