Vertically magnetized medium and its manufacture

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve magnetic recording sensitivity and recording density by obtaining the high orientation degree of the crystallinity of the magnetic material of a magnetic recording medium for vertical magnetization. CONSTITUTION:On a base 12, a magnetic layer 11 having high magnetic permeability and in-surface anisotropy of its surface, such as a permalloy film, is formed and on the surface, an organic high-molecular film 10, such as a polyimide film and polyester film, is formed. On the film 10, a vertically magnetized film 9, such as a sputtering film of Co-Cr alloy, having vertical anisotropy is further formed to obtain a magnetic recording medium for vertical magnetization.
