Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned apparatus, wherein the display position displacement is carried out depending upon the difference between the display position and an upper or lower tab position nearest thereto thereby when opening a new line during the operation is required, a print head can be displaced with a less number of operations of a tab key. CONSTITUTION: A counter CO for storing the present digit position of the print head, a storage RAM for prestoring a tab position, a tab assigning resister PO and a control section CTL are provided. When the control section CTL receives a tab signal TAB issued by a TAB key or a backward tab signal RTAB issued by a backward tab key, a signal CRT issued by a carriage turn key and other signals, it sends signals PR, CR, and BCR to a printer section. By the TAB signal and the RTAB signal, the display position displacement is carried out depending upon the difference between the display position and an upper or lower tab position nearest thereto.
