Near infrared absorbing plastic film

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled film which absorbs infrared rays at light transmittance of a specified value or lower over a specified near infrared region without intercepting transmission of visible light and useful for near infrared cut filter in a specified field, containing a specified near infrared adsorbing agent. CONSTITUTION: A near infrared absorbing plastic film contains at least one near infrared absorbing agent selected from a compd. of formula I ( wherein R 1 is methyl, H, Cl, Br; X is a quaternary ammonium group; M is Ni, Co, Pd, Pt), a compd. of formula II (wherein R 2 is H, Cl, Br; X and M are as defined above), a compd. of formula III (wherein R 3 is methyl, phenyl; M, is Ni, Mo, Pd, Pt, W) and a yompd. of formula IV (wherein X 1 is I, tetrafluoro borate), and absorbs infrared rays at light transmittance of 25% or lower over a near infrared region of 700W 1,100nm without intercepting transmission of visible light. This filter is useful for near inreared cut filter of a light-detectin device for matching a spectral sensitivity curve of a semiconductor light-receiving element, such as silicon diode, with that of a visual sensitivity curve.
