Surface processing of rotor of electric motor

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To contrive to improve a characteristic and workability as well as to stabilize quality, when processing by cutting the rotor surface, by processing while jetting cooling gas of low temperature and high pressure on the peripheral surface of the rotor in the direction of feeding a tool tip. CONSTITUTION:When processing the peripheral surface of a rotor 11 furnished with cast coil windings formed by aluminum die casting with a tool tip 13, the processing by cutting is executed while jetting cooling air from a nozzle 14 on the peripheral surface of the rotor 11 in the position at the equal height to the bite 13 and besides immediately before in the direction of feeding the bite 13, for instance on the spot 5-10mm. apart in the feeding direction. Said cooling air is made, for instance, to be of the temperature 30-40 deg.C lower than the ambient temperature and as a cooling air flow of the pressure 2-5kg/cm<2> and to jet from the spot 2-5mm. apart from the nozzle to the peripheral surface of the rotor. Thereby together with the improved characteristic and workability the quality thereof can be stabilized.
