Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stabilize and increase the recording and reproduction performance and to reduce damages of a magnetic recording body, by pressing a discoidal flexible magnetic recording body via a jacket, before and after the head contact position located along the rotating direction. CONSTITUTION:After coating a lubricant on the surface of a vertical magnetic recording body made by sequential forming of permalloy Co-Cr film on a discoidal flexible base, the base is accommodated in a jacket, and this recording body is fixed to a rotating shaft and the jacket is loosely fixed at the end. In parallel with the opening 2 of the jacket 1 at a head contact position, along the recording body rotation direction 3, the recording body 4 is fixed with about 50g weight via the jacket 1 between a pressing pad 6 and a block 7 at two positions P1 and P2 of the front and back of the opening. The block 7 is provided on a base plate 8.
