Polyethylene terephthalate composition for molding
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition having improved processing characteristics of injection molding, providing a molded article having improved mechanical properties and surface smoothness, obtained by blending a polyethylene terephthalate with glass fibers, olefin type copolymer, finely divided talc and a lubricant with a specific melting point. CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate having a relative viscosity preferably 1.2W2.0 is blended with (B) 1W150pts.wt. glass fibers as a reinforcing agent, (C) 0.1W100pts.wt. olefin type copolymer consisting of an α-olefin and (1W50wt%) α,β-unsaturated acid glycidyl ester shown by the formula (R is H or lower alkyl), and (D) 0.05W50pts.wt. talc having diameters with volume particle diameter ≤10μ, to give a composition consisting of four components, which is blended with (E) 0.05W5pts.wt., preferably 0.1W3pts.wt. at least one lubricant (e.g., higher fatty alcohol, etc.) having a melting point lower than the crystallization temperature of the composition.
