Treatment of waste water

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To treat waste water of stack gas desulfurization efficiently and to facilitate solid-liquid separation of formed sludge by introducing diluting water into said waste water in such a way that the compounds of S 2- formed by this have ≤150mg/l concn. and performing anaerobic treatment. CONSTITUTION: Part of waste water 5 is introduced together with return sludge 6 from a settling tank 2 into an anaerobic tank 1, where it is introduced with diluting water 12 in such a way that the S in the waste water therein has ≤150mg/l, whereby an anaerobic treatment is accomplished. Tap water or industrial water is usable for the diluting water. Mixed liquids in the tank 1 are withdrawn slightly each time and are subjected to solid-liquid separation in a settling tank 2. The solids are returned as return sludge 6 into the tank 1 and the supernatant is introduced into an aeration tank 3 as the stage of the next step, where it is subjected to an aerobic treatment. Part of the remaiming waste water 5 and the return sludge 6 are introduced into the tank 3 and air 9 is diffused therein, whereby aeration by mixing is accomplished. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
