Core alignment device for optical fiber core
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To achieve alignment with high accuracy, by taking two sets of V groove shaft stands opposed for the alignment of a single mode optical fiber as a cantilever, and making the bisector of an open angle of the V groove coincident with the moving direction of an optical fiber due to tortion of the cantilever. CONSTITUTION:Ends of an optical fiber 2A are located on a V groove 3a of opposing shaft supporting stands 3. The stand 3 is a cantilever with a supporting member 5, and the stand 3 moves up and down by taking a point P1 as a center by adjusting an adjusting bolt 7 and the fiber on the stand 3 moves toward a straight line L. This straight line L is coincident with the bisector of the open angle of the V groove 3a. With this constitution, the alignment of a single mode optical fiber with eccentricity can be made easy.
